Navatur Pamplona 2008
This region in northern Spain has, like the neighbouring Basque Country, a long tradition for travelling abroad and a high purchasing power. This combined with the new direct flight that SAS opens march 30 from Bilbao to Oslo were the best arguments for Norway to be present at the annual International public tourist fair Navartur, February 22-24, were we also held a presentation for travel agencies in the region.
The public fair Navartur took place from Friday to Sunday and attracted 23.000 visitors. There were 93 exhibitors, among the participating countries were Italy, Portugal, Holland, Lituania, Venezuela, India, Israel, Jordan, Malaysia.
More than 4.000 persons visited the Norwegian stand and brought with them 6.500 promotional units.
Visitor profile:
The visitors to our stand were in the age 30-65 years, mostly interested in organized round trips with Spanish speaking guide, cruise and fly & drive in summer. We also experienced a number of requests for information on camping/motor homes and suggestions for honeymooners. They were all experienced travellers, many of them knew little about Norway, however some had already been to Norway and planned to go back. Many were also very positive to receive information on winter activities in Norwegian Lapland.
Activities during the fair:
- Presentation about Norway to travel agents in Navarra (Pamplona and surroundings) and public Saturday 23rd of February, in collaboration with Hurtigruten Spain. The travel agents learned about your products and destinations, and received your information and brochures.
- In collaboration with SAS and Hurtigruten Spain we raffled a trip for 2 people with Hurtigruten.
