Successful OTC for the Norwegian Pavilion.

The Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), considered the world’s largest and premier offshore event, was held this year from May 5-8 at Reliant Park in Houston, Texas, USA.

According to the OTC event organizers, attendance at the 2008 event reached 75,092, a 26-year high, as energy professionals from 110 countries met to learn about the latest technology to find and produce offshore oil and natural gas resources.

Over 2,500 companies from more than 35 countries participated at the exhibition. Delegations from the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy  (OED), Hordaland and Stavanger joined the 50 companies that participated at the Norwegian Pavilion.

Innovation Norway colleges from some of our district offices and from our offices in Rio de Janeiro, Toronto, and Kuala Lumpur were also in hand to meet and interact with the representatives from these companies and delegations.

With such a big presence and with events like the Norwegian American Chamber of Commerce OTC luncheon that featured Mr. Tore Halvorsen from FMC Technologies and the annual and traditional OTC Dinner drawing more and more people is easy to see why the OTC is a must for Norwegian companies interested not only in the US market but also looking to strengthen their presence internationally.
